The West Lancashire Football League is a football league which, contrary to its name, does not only cover West Lancashire, but has members from all over Lancashire, the former Westmorland, Furness and even Yorkshire (in the case of Crosshills and Todmorden Borough).

The West Lancashire League is an official feeder of the North West Counties League and itself accepts clubs from a variety of leagues. Its official feeder is the Lancashire Amateur League but clubs may also join from the East Lancashire League, North Lancashire LeaguePreston & District League and Furness Premier League.

Clubs who have climbed the pyramid Edit

The West Lancashire League has been home to several clubs who have gone on to leagues higher up the English pyramid. Most recently, Barnoldswick Town were accepted into the North West Counties League for the 2009-2010 season.

The most successful former West Lancashire League side have been Morecambe, who currently play in the Football League's League Two. The League has also hosted former Football League side Nelson, who were members of the West Lancashire League Division Two between 1988 and 1992. Several league teams have also fielded 'A' teams in the West Lancashire League over the years.
